The Ukrainian Academic Grid Initiative was established in November 2004, and is formally recognised by the Ministry of Education and Science for Ukraine, which has delegated all the functions of Funding Agency to the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Number of users with valid Grid Certificate: three collective users in 2006
Number of sites (Resource Centres): 7 sites in 2006, expecting another 7 in 2007
Number of CPUs: about 200 at the end of 2006
Total storage (in TB): about 40 TB at the end of 2006
