Use Case title: Partners join an existing VO
Short description: Each application's partner has to obtain a valid X.509 certificate from a supported Certification Authority and to justify that he/she belongs to ES community before being added to a Virtual Organisation. The partner involved in the application has to describe it in term of resources needed and ES project.
Actors involved:
Pre-conditions: If the new partner fulfils the above condition, he/she has to bring some resources to the Grid if their organization is not already working on Grid. He/she has to describe the application and to indicate the different partners working within the same application.
Steps: In order to check if the application can be ported on the Grid it is necessary to have an accurate description of the project carrying the application. DEGREE has developed a form to provide such description related to the application description, typical workflow, the use of licensed software, all information relevant to the data management and policies, for specific case: the Grid environment. This form is thus a straight access to define by the partner the specific requirements linked to the application.
Then an analysis is done to indicate the compatibility and the feasibility of the application with the Grid resources
When the previous conditions are fulfilled, some test will be carry out concerning the application itself and related to the portability on the Grid. Test procedure will then be define and check with the partner the coherence. Tests are named test suites and they allow a multi-stage exchange between grid developers and application managers. Through the Test suite, the developers have a feedback to improve the work undertake on the Grid and it is way of checking the portability of the application
If all tests are completed, a procedure is defined to port the whole application and provided to the partner
