Use Case title: A Comprehensive Gridification Guide to Assist Application Developers
Short description: As a result of training and dissemination events, number of grid users and applications considerably increases. A comprehensive gridification guide would be very helpful for application developers in EGI partner countries. Considering its advanced and up-to-date content, this guide should be dynamic and supersede the existing wiki pages and training material.
Actors involved: EGI partner countries, SEE-GRID-2, other interested regional/application specific projects, grid application developers from NGIs.
Related Requirement: Establishment of close collaboration between grid projects and EGI regarding the sharing of any helpful gridification material for application developers.
Pre-conditions: (optional)
- All actors that could contribute to this UC should be identified.
- A collaboration framework among actors involved should be prepared.
Steps:
- From projects and NGIs, collect all relevant data such as gridification guidelines, cookbooks, wiki contents, feed from development portals, bug trackers and helpdesk systems.
- Decide on the template of the gridification guide.
- Create a wiki page for the guide that is accessible and editable by all actors of this use case.
- Embed the collected information to the appropriate parts of the guide.
- Identify the missing parts in the content and assign responsible/voluntary partners to complete those parts.
- Enable continuous contribution to the wiki and regularly check its content if it is up-to-date or not.
Post-conditions (optional):
- A common gridification guide will be published on web through wiki pages.
- Number of assistance requests and problems faced by application developers will decrease.
- It will be more convenient to deal with gridification problems of developers as mostly it will be sufficient to direct them to this guide.
- Dynamic nature of the wiki will provide up-to-date guidelines for the recent middlewares in use.
Project(s) involved (optional): EGI_SD, SEE-GRID-2, other interested regional/application-specific projects.
Middleware (optional): Gridification guide will involve all middlewares used by actors of this use case.
