Use Case title: Functionality alert at some NGI site
Short description: Some fundamental set of services provided by NGI sites is monitored at the EGI level. In the case described below, there is a problem with some site under the relevant NGI. We assume that problems are solved in a hierarchical manner, i.e. the majority of problems is detected and solved at the NGI level, but possibly some problems (for example those related to security) can escalate to the global (EGI) level.
Actors involved: EGI operator, NGI operator, RC operator
Related requirement: The problem needs to be addressed by the RC operator within some time constraints, depending on its severity.
Pre-conditions (optional): A set of services being monitored and considered necessary at the EGI level need, to be agreed upon between NGI and EGI.
Steps:
- EGI operator detects a fundamental problem with site.
- EGI operator informs NGI operator and site.
- RC operator initiates investigation within some time limit and notifies NGI and EGI operators about the status.
- RC operator solves the problem or if not possible escalates it to NGI level as unsolvable.
Post-conditions (optional): NGI infrastructure is operational again.
