Use Case title: Providing Access to Large Distributed Infrastructure to Public Researchers
Short description: A hospital would like to access distributed resources (from other centers) and process information and share it with other stakeholders.
Actors involved: direction of the hospital section, their researchers, direction of the resource centers, stakeholders
Pre-conditions:
- At least two or three different research teams are involved in national or international collaborations
- The medical application requires access to large volume of distributed data or/and large computing power
- The resource center hosts data or can provide computing power
Steps:
- The public institution contacts the researchers
- The direction of the center agrees on support (contract)
- The public institution contacts other stakeholders and defines with the resource center the support agreement
- The service machines to access resources are provided, authorization and authentication system is defined and agreed
- The project is “integrated” in an existing framework (for example int.eu.grid)
- The support center researchers “adapt” and “gridify” the application
- Researchers in the hospital only use a friendly interface fully customized
