Use Case title: Sharing the Infrastructure of a Research Center
Short description: A research center with different computing resources wants to share them among the researchers that participate in different national or international collaborations
Actors involved: direction of the center, system managers and other service units, researchers in different teams, international collaborations
Pre-conditions: At least two or three research teams are involved in national or international collaborations A significant part of the computing infrastructure is “common” or “institutional”, not directly owned by researchers themselves
Steps:
- The researchers indicate their needs when requesting the infrastructure
- The direction of the center agrees on support to e-Science
- The service units are convinced to participate in the setup (by the direction or the researchers)
- The service machines are installed to access resources
- The center is “integrated” in an existing framework (for example EGEE)
- Researchers are informed
- Some training is provided
- Additional support (funding?) is received…
