Use Case title: Operate a national science grid and act as a resource broker for national research communities in international co-operation.
Short description: A national computing centre (NGI) provides resources for several different grid infrastructures to enable the easy access for national researchers to join international VOs on their field of science.
Actors involved: Research groups, NGI operator, VO co-ordinators
Related Requirement: Maintain a sustainable national computing infrastructure.
Pre-conditions: (optional) Local resources available for application so that research groups can use those as a resource to join a new VO.
Steps: The actual steps required, so that the use case can be materialised.
- National infrastructure funding
- Policies for sharing the resources
- In the future also the European vide “stock markets” for the resource exchange
Middleware (optional):
Several different middleware (e.g. gLite, ARC, UNICORE) depending on the infrastructure on which the certain research community wants to join.
