NGI Full Name: Bulgarian Grid Consortium
Acronym: BGGC

The Bulgarian Grid Consortium is reportedly the only NGI in Europe which fulfills all of the following:

  • it is recognised by its governmental authority, the State Agency for Information Technology and Communications;
  • it is its own separate legal entity;
  • it does not have a time-limited mandate; and
  • it has guaranteed sustainable funding.

BGGC was established in September of 2002.
